New York has been kind to me thus far. I have been blessed with opportunities for one reason or another to step into some of the city’s finest venues to create and to collaborate. Recently, I was asked to visit the Classic Stage Company to present a workshop in stage combat to members of its NextGen program in coordination with the opening of Hamlet starring Peter Saarsgard. The NextGen company is in residence, taking classes and participating in special programming so that they may better understand the productions presented by the senior company and all its working parts.
I had a phenomenal time and would like to thank the entire NextGen company for their focus, attention and commitment in addition to their fearless leader, Education Director Kathleen Dorman for providing the opportunity.
Be sure and get your tickets to see one of Shakespeare’s most appreciated works performed by the earnest Mr. Saarsgard and guided with great aplomb by director Austin Pendleton. Show runs March 27th through May 10th at the Classic Stage Company in New York’s Lower East Side.
