January Semester @ TAMUCC

January can’t come soon enough. For the third year in a row, I will be making the trip to Corpus Christi where I will teach two sections of stage combat; one in unarmed, the other in knife. Few times throughout the year do I have opportunity to work with such dedicated students. It is rewarding to know that so many take stock in the continual exploration of their lives as physical actors.

Corpus Christi is fast becoming a recognizable training ground for actor combatants, thanks largely in part to the wonderful actor training they receive year round at the hands of Alison Frost and Kelly Russell and Don Luna. I am honored to be a part of a faculty of this caliber and am excited for what the coming months will bring.

I will also be spending a few days in rehearsal with the cast of Water by the Spoonful, coaching and choreographing some of the physical life of the play. The show is directed by my dear friend, Alison Frost and runs March 10th through 14th, 2015. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit the TAMUCC website.

21 students achieved certification with the Society of American Fight Directors, 9 of which received a recommended pass; the highest level of certification available. This is an incredible feat to accomplish in only 10 days. I am so proud of these students and already looking forward to my return.
