Lordy mercy. Just over a month in New York City and I already find myself prepping Shakespeare for a Central Park audience. Not THE Shakespeare in the Park mind you, but some high volume verse and verbiage nonetheless. I have recently begun rehearsals for The Taming of the Shrew produced by the Fools & Kings Project. What part you ponder? Proudly portraying Petruchio the patriarchal protagonist.
There are some fine actors sharing the stage with me and I am excited to quite literally play with them over the course of the next few weeks. Further information can be found on the Fools & Kings website. Performances will be at Summit Rock near the 81st St. Entrance to Central Park West and at Athens Square Park in Astoria Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays in the month of May. It’s FREE.
