Teaching Artist

Jason Paul Tate is a New York based teaching artist regularly offering group classes and private coaching in viewpoints, audition prep, vocal presence and stage combat to professionals in the performing arts. He is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor at his alma mater, Florida State University and has served on the faculties of the New York Film Academy, Hofstra University and Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi. He has previously worked as a guest instructor at the University of Kentucky, the Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training and the University of Central Florida.

Jason frequently teaches master classes to young artists and has done so for programs at New York’s Classic Stage Company, Movement Theatre Studio, Florida Repertory Theatre, Blackbird Dance Theatre and the Kentucky Conservatory Theatre.

As a Certified Teacher with the Society of American Fight Directors, Jason regularly appears at regional workshops including The Stage Combat Workshop at Louisiana Tech University, The Lonestar Smash in Dallas, TX, the A-Town Throwdown in Atlanta, GA and the National Stage Combat Workshop at the University of North Carolina School for the Arts.

He is the co-founder of Neutral Chaos, LLC, which annually produces the Tourist Trap Stage Combat and Stunt workshop in Orlando, FL and provides combat training and certification for actors in New York City.

Jason also teaches safe and effective techniques for the use of firearms for stage or film.
