Teaching Artist

Jason Paul Tate is a New York based teaching artist currently teaching private lessons and providing coaching in stage combat, audition prep, vocal presence and dialects to working professionals. He is also a faculty member at the New York Film Academy teaching combat for film and textual analysis. Jason has taught in colleges and conservatories nationwide including Hofstra University, University of Kentucky, Florida State University, Texas A&M University, the Asolo Conservatory and the University of Central Florida. He has also taught master classes to working professionals at the Florida Repertory Theatre and the Kentucky Conservatory Theatre in addition to presenting at workshops such as the National Stage Combat Workshop at the University of North Carolina School for the Arts. Jason is a Certified Teacher with the Society of American Fight Directors, offering instruction in all eight weapon styles offered by the organization. He also teaches safe and effective techniques for the use of firearms for stage or film.
